According to post http://www.silverstripe.org/archive/show/196669#post196669 SilverStripe cannot search fields different from Title and Content. However it was in October 2008 before SilverStripe was released. Is it possible now?

In particular, if there is a StaffPage (and the corresponding table) with fields firstname, lastname, office, position,...

is it possible search by lastname?

Thank you in advance

Victor

PS Sure one can write external php script directly searching database and embed it through iframes. However one should be careful with iframes since 1) then external link will lead to the alien page but it will appear as enveloped in SilverStripe which could lead to confusion

2) link back to the site leads to "double envelope" (and may be eventually to multiple envelopes).

The only remedy is to use all links in <iframe> </iframe> to be forced open in new window
