This has been fixed in 3.0 with https://github.com/silverstripe/sapphire/commit/f0f5dcb966da9123e88dc1f8acc71065cfd7c8d8.
Its been committed after the last 3.0.3 release was prepared, so is only available in the development branch.

We've just encountered this (only once in our logs) in version 3.1.2. I've check the codebase and the commit Ingo mentions above is definitely in place.

Does anyone know the cause of this? I'm not able to replicate the issue to see what action triggered the log entry, and the log message is not really that detailed:

2014-06-19 02:49:43.991044 ERROR          ModelAdmin::init(): Invalid Model class-Location:/var/www/html/blah/framework/admin/code/ModelAdmin.php (Line 127)
