Hi Cheese and others,
I need to fire an event after someone hits the save button on a DOM popup.
How would I go about doing this?

In a regular page I would just add function onAfterWrite(){}

Yup. onAfterWrite() is a member function of DataObject, not SiteTree, so it works the same way..
