Inherited project built in version 3.1... Cannot login to admin... Please help...

Hi anyone,

I have just been given a project that was developed in 3.1.
It has been given to me from a zip file and db export and has been installed to a server hosted by our engineering team.

I believe it was developed in a local env, previously hosted without SSL and has now been put on one of our servers with an SSL cert.
Everything seems to work fine except for logging into the admin panel.
It allows me to login, but then just displays a notification that I am logged in as "A username" and then doesn't actually redirect to the admin panel.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Also, I'm not all that familiar with SS either which does not help!
If there are any specific files or file contents that I need to provide to aid in this fix just let me know.
