I'd like to have my custom class extending DataObject, and having a $db field which is an Enum that the user is able to populate in the CMS.

Is it possible? how?

The result I want to achieve is having the CMS users be able to create new data objects, and also choose possible values for specific properties of the objects themselves. In the end it should be possible to create a front end form, to filter data objects based on the values that the CMS users choose.

Alternatively, what is a workaround to achieve the result?
