Hi,

I need to give more of a description to the field names. Like "Page name", I want to add an description to the field, more than just a name.

Where do I go to update this? I have gone into the SiteTree.php file under core/model and tried there, but nothing changed - around line 1340

Is there a better way to do this - I do not care if I adjust the core files and this system is becoming highly customized already.

In SS 2.3.7 you want the Sapphire lang file:
sapphire/lang/en_US.php

$lang['en_US']['SiteTree']['PAGETITLE'] = 'Page name';
