Flush results in Can't Find Page error - Anybody??

I just started with SilverStripe this afternoon and I'm running through some of the tutorials. In the one about creating a new page type I've created the new HomePage.php in mysite/code. I then try to flush using http://localhost/dev/build?flush=1. Result is a 404 error. I noted that I don't have dev folder anywhere that I can see. Any ideas?
