I've noticed that my site, front-end and back-end (CMS), has been running very slowly. The back-end is particularly sluggish, taking up to Maybe up to 15 seconds to load a page on the SiteTree.

What are your suggestions for improving speed for a site with largely static content + blog + photo gallery?

Any other suggestions to improve performance?

A good and properly configured opcode cache (such as xcache) is great are speeding up the server's response as well as dramatically lowering load on the server.

Another speed up is to use memcache for caching instead of the file system.

Thanks Simon. Do you know if they can be used simultaneously? Or would that be unnecessary?
