I've got a Silverstripe site that has a news section based on the extending a basic site tutorial. From a users point of view this is all working fine, however as time goes on and more and more news articles are added to the site the number of items directly underneath the news folder in the Silverstripe admin is becoming unmanageable. The ideal would be for them to automatically group by date, is this possible?

In the CMS, no I don't think so.

If news pages were DataObjects rather than Pages then you could manage it in all sorts of cool ways. Like manage the pages with Model Admin or with DataObjectManager.
