For me, SS is good because it's a CMS + framework, not heavy and out of the box a few addons, but you can download widgets and plug-ins ( lot of thems are <1 version ) or you can build yours, and simple to extend. It has a simple back-end ( see Joomla backend..ouhhh it's a bit complex for a customer... )...
