Ok i can't install SilverStripe-v2.4.0-beta1 on my localhost. I resive that

# Checking that friendly URLs work...
# Friendly URLs are not working. This is most likely because mod_rewrite isn't configuredcorrectly on your site. Please check the following things in your Apache configuration; you may need to get your web host or server administrator to do this for you:

    * mod_rewrite is enabled
    * AllowOverride All is set for your directory

But i have mod_rewrite and AllowOverride All set. I have several cms working ok, and ss-v2.3.6 working ok too. Can somebody help me?

Can you actually access any pages on the site (e.g http://mydomain.com/home) ?

I've seen this before on earlier versions under a WAMP setup. Came up every time. Yet the install was still successful and the message proved incorrect.

Good point Double-A-Ron.

Even if the rewrite test failed, you should still be able to access the site http://localhost/silverstripe/home if mod_rewrite really is working and the install error isn't correct.

Cheers,
Sean

@Solo: Thats a known problem: http://open.silverstripe.org/ticket/5059
Short term solution: Find the temporary directory and clear it out manually.
