I am trying to install SS but can't because of this error:

User '*me*' needs to be able to write to this file:

The file is currently owned by '**'. There is no user-group that contains both the web-server user and the owner of this file. Change the ownership of the file, create a new group, or temporarily make the file writeable by everyone during the install process.

I have seen a couple threads on this but none helped or I just could not understand.

so how do I edit this file?

I have absolutly no knowledge of how DB's work.

Please can someone help with a solution that doesn't assume knowledge of these things.

This is my first install. I know the absolute basics of back end web server stuff. I am a website designer not a developer.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks!

don't worry, you can create a folder named "silverstripe-cache" in you webroot (i.e. along side mysite, cms and saphire) and silverstirpe will use that instead.

Hello ,

are there plans to create this cache-folder by default during installation ?
