OK, I have a webhost and everything. SS has been downloaded. I do see the url page: http://sitename.com

Why can't I use http://WWW.sitename.com? Is this normal not to see the www. when viewing the site? If so, how can I tell others of the site (what will be the site address)

Help.
Thanks

This is something that is probably caused by your webhost and not SilverStripe.
Normally the host setup www.domain.com to have the same contents as domain.com, but they (the webhost) can have setup the server to return some other content.

Just check with your host and they can probably fix it.

You're saying the site doesn't work with www in the url? Are there errors?

If you want to force SS sites to use the www, add this to your config. Director::forcewww();
