Hi there..
Im new to SilverStripe and having problems transferring a SilverStripe website from one server to other..

I have the access to both the servers.

Here is what I did..

Uploaded all the files and folders from the old server to the new server.
Exported the database from old server and imported it to the database of this new server.
Opened mysite/_config.php and edited the database vars to the new one, where i have imported the old database backup.

SO WHAT AM I MISSING ??

WHY AM I NOT ABLE TO VIEW MY SITE at www.domain.com ??

WHY ITS SO CONFUSING CMS ??

Ah....

Are you sure your new domain is switched over correctly? Try uploading a normal html file to it and see if you can see that.

SilverStripe: make sure you have also transferred the .htaccess file from your old site to your new site - sometimes this file is hidden in ftp programmes so you may not have downloaded it from the old site.

Hi Soam,

If you follow these steps your site will be up and running in no time:
- Make a fresh install of SS
- Put website specific documents on the server
- Import database
- Rebuild database

If you can’t manage I’m willing to help you. I think it will take something between 15 to 30 minutes to make it work.
