Yeah the three identical links are dodgy, although he's got a valid question so I think thats acceptable in small doses. If in doubt, I'd rather have the odd spam than piss off new members who might not have contributed anything yet, but still have the potential to become long-term contributors. Inclusive rather than exclusive :)

We're not planning any new spam combat measures at the moment, unless there's an urgent need - how much moderation do you guys have to do? (posts/day). Looking at the signup data, we're more or less back to normal (~5/day rather than ~250/day in our worst times).

For me: hardly any, so unless someone is always beating me to it, I think things are in fact going very well :-)

It has been quite quiet over christmas, and it is definetly more quiet that just before/just after I became a mod.
I'd say around one spammer every few days at the moment.
