Hi everyone,

after upgrading the to latest version and changing everything as requested in the "http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=upgrading"
I only have 4 page types left -> Pape, ErrorPage, Redirector Page and Virtual Page. The "please contact me here"- page is now a Post Comment Form (?), which I am not able to edit or choose for other sites. (And it does not make sense here, otherwise I would leave it like it is...)

What happend and how can I fix it?

Thanks
Bex

ok, now I found a topic were it says I should have installed the extra-programm first.

http://doc.silverstripe.com/doku.php?id=upgrading:2.3.0#user_defined_form

unfortunately it goes in circles and I can't really find a way out to use the userdefinedform again....

13 years of learning the english language at school now seems the easiest part of creating my homepage!

You just need to download the User Forms module from http://www.silverstripe.org/modules/, Once you download and install that code you should just need to run http://www.yoursite.com/dev/build/ and you should have your 'Form Page Type' back

Sorry Willr, but "just dowload" and "just run" does not work they way it should. There is no total failure anymore after I dowloaded that file you mentioned (and put it in the file mentioned in some hidden readme.txt) like it did yesterday with the version I found.
But still I can´t create a proper contact form for the visitors of my website.

For me it does not make any sense to take this feature out of the silverstripe programm, especially if it was in first, the whole page is created and for uploading onto the server it is recommended to download "the new shiny version of silverstripe".
Maybe there is some sense for geeks whose daily business is programming and working with .php., .css, .ss and stuff like this for ages but not for someone to whom your programm was recommended as easy to understand and to run without lots of progamming knowledge.
You guys even published a book on running this programm - how should that work with essential parts missing with every new release?

Ok, I can´t use a contact form on my page. Thats it.

We removed the code for contact forms for very logical reasons - 1) to make the code distributed with silverstripe leaner (and therefore faster) and 2) so we can release updates to the user defined forms without having to release an update for the whole package.

If you download that module and run http://www.yoursite.com/dev/build then visit the CMS - www.yoursite.com/admin?flush=1 can you not see the Form Page Type in the "Create Page" box?

Also make sure you have unzipped the folder you downloaded to the correct location. It should be at the same level as /cms/, /sapphire/ and /jsparty/ etc folders. Also check you have a '_config.php' file in the folder you unzipped.
