SilverStripe is pleased to announce the immediate release of SilverStripe Framework and CMS 3.0.1 stable.
With over 80 bug fixes and enhancements and at least that many smaller tweaks since 3.0, this release significantly improves the usability and stability of both the user interface and the developer APIs. Despite this, it is drop in compatible with 3.0, making upgrading simple.
SilverStripe 3.0, released slightly over a month ago, was a major SilverStripe release and a significant departure from the previous version 2.4. We allowed ourselves the freedom to reimagine all portions of the framework and CMS to produce a platform built for the future.
SilverStripe 3.0.1 is the first maintenance release for 3.0 - it builds on 3.0's radical improvements but shifts gears to work on stability and polish. It is the first in a series of releases (which we hope will occur roughly once per month) whose aim is to take 3.0 and polish it to a brilliant shine while we work on bigger improvements in the background for the release of 3.1 next year.
In addition to this release, we've been working on getting the core modules that make up the larger SilverStripe ecosystem compatible with our latest version. All of these modules have recently had, or will very soon have, beta releases that make them compatible with 3.0.1:
These modules provide drop in power and features to the 3.0 framework and make upgrading 2.4 based sites easier.
We strongly recommend all developers who are developing sites on 3.0 upgrade to 3.0.1 at their earliest opportunity.

Awesome work SilverStripe team. Didn't take you long to roll out 3.0.1 and great to have image thumbnails working in gridField again!

Jose,
I'm not very familiar with ecommerce in SS, but read quite a lot about Silvercart, which is also open source. They are currently working on an SS3 version also.

Hi!
The ecommerce module needs to be converted to SS3.
Nicolaas is making many improvements in the ecommerce module.
Every good CMS should have a opensource ecommerce module.
We have to help Nicolaas to do the conversion.
Thanks,
Regards,
Jose
