You've asked, and we've listened. After shutting down the silverstripe.org forums in late 2017, we've had some feedback through the community survey that you're missing a place to share persistent knowledge with your peers.
While there are other highly frequented places (Slack, StackOverflow and the Core Mailinglist), we reckon there's still a gap: Slack is too scattered for persistent knowledge, StackOverflow only allows distinct technical questions, and the (email-based) Core Mailinglist doesn't scale to broader discussions.
To validate this theory, we've created a new forum as a "preview". Fill it with useful information, and chances are higher that it stays around. It's based on Discourse, which is a modern take on forums that scales much better to larger communities like ours. There's some FAQs which attempt to distinguish use cases a bit.

The forum is a community-maintained effort, lead by @adrexia, @brettt89, @Firesphere, @tamelion, @dorsetdigital, @jonom and myself. If you're keen to contribute, please post on the forum meta discussion. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!
