HTML widget strange behaviour

HTML widget works on SS 2.3.4. Only after Save&Publish and Refresh of CMS the content is shown twice in the HTMLEditorField of the HTML Content widget:
HTML source button of TinyMCE shows the following
<p>Content</p>
<div class="middleColumn"><p>Content</p></div>Any idea's how to fix this?

Sorry, have found this http://open.silverstripe.org/ticket/2836. First glance: this seems to solve my issue.

Second glance: it didn't fix my issue. Can't publish no more after this fix. Only solution was to change HTMLEditorField to Textarea. Any idea's how to get the HTMLEditorField working?
