Sidebar content

Is it possible to draw in a summary of text from a Page in the sidebar?
For example if I have a page called Campaigns, can I draw a portion of content from that page in the sidebar?
I have so many questions

its easy if you want to get say the first paragraph you could have $Content.FirstParagraph or the first x amount of characters. If you want a certain string then your best bet is to create a custom field in the CMS and get them to fill it in.
