Redirect URL that no longer exists

Is it possible to redirect a page that no longer exists to one that does?
Eg www.mydomain.com/blog/article1 to www.mydomain.com/blog/article2
I have tried modifying the htaccess file with
RewriteRule ^(.*)/article1$ article2But has not worked.
Any other suggestions?

You could use a RedirectorPage in the CMS to do this.
