The London SilverStripe community had their first monthly meetup on 11 June. It was a great event with many new faces and interesting talks and discussions.
We kicked things off with a intro of the new SilverStripe London office and its objectives, then a rundown of the changes coming in SilverStripe 3.2, and finished off with a demo of the Shoot Systems web backend that CSL Web built.
Joel Edwards - SilverStripe Ambassador
Welcome and intro about the SilverStripe London office opening including his role here in the UK & Europe.
Dan Hensby - Solution Architect at SilverStripe London
Dan will be talking about his exciting new role at SilverStripe as a Solution Architect as well as being a Core Committer on the Open Source project. He'll be exploring the upcoming SilverStripe 3.2 release, all the exciting things it includes and how you can help out.
Aaron Brockhurst - Director of CSL Web
Sharing about how they use SilverStripe to handle the back office processes for Shoot Systems - from the camera systems where the images are uploaded through to how they are surfaced online through the web and onto social media. Shoot System’s clients include: BBC, British Airways, Budweiser, Disney, Ford, Hard Rock Café, London 2012, Nissan, Nivea, Nokia, Paramount, Sony, Virgin Media, Visa, Vodafone… just to name a few!
Have something interesting to share? We are always looking for people to speak and contribute back to the community. It could be a recent project you're happy with, a technical discussion, a module demo, or something else you think would be interesting to the SilverStripe community. Get in touch with Joel at joel@silverstripe.co.uk or 07482 345232.
