About HONDUFUTURO
HONDUFUTURO is a Honduran non-profit foundation established with the support of 9 of the most important companies of the private sector in the country. Its main objective is to provide financial support and increase the possibilities of Honduran citizens to access high-quality postgraduate study programs abroad.
Thanks to this initiative, students, after finishing their postgraduate studies, will be able to return to the country and encourage the promotion of constant social, economic and cultural transformation in Honduras.

HonduFuturo had a website using Drupal but they see the administration of the site very complex and non intuitive, they need a website with an easy way to post articles with pictures and files, administrate a list of scholarship recipients and a site search.
This is when I decided to use SilverStripe, because it have an intuitive Content Management System (CMS) and a framework to build extensions in the website faster than other frameworks.
The new site made with SilverStripe have an responsive design, it uses the Blog Add-on to administrate the articles and with the built in SilverStripe CMS features they have an easy way to add images, files and embed videos from youtube.
The scholarship recipients list is managed with the SilverStripe ModelAdmin, this year they had the first scholarship recipients and in the future they will need to add filters to search and show the scholarship recipients from other years. This will be easily handled with SilverStripe.
